The second quarter of 2024 has seen an interesting shift in user engagement and download patterns within the fast food and fast casual restaurant app category in the US. Here's a brief overview of how the top apps performed on the unified iOS and Android platforms, according to Sensor Tower data.
McDonald's Offers and Delivery saw a fluctuation in downloads starting at 36K in the first week of April and peaking at 47K towards the end of May. Weekly active users showed a similar trend, beginning at 489K and reaching a high of 575K in the same period.
Burger King® Argentina had a more pronounced peak in downloads with 46K in mid-April, followed by a dip to 19K in mid-June. The weekly active users for the app started at 171K and experienced a peak of 188K before closing the quarter at 185K.
The KFC APP (Ecu, Col, Chi, Arg) displayed a downward trend in downloads from 9K to 5K, with a notable drop to 3K in the third week of May. Active users also decreased from 61K to 52K over the quarter.
Starbucks Argentina experienced a mixed downloads trend, with an initial 3.7K downloads in the first week of April, a spike to 10K in the fourth week, and then settling at 2.4K by the end of June.
